Visit to Myanmar with IRC

In February 2015, Joshua Redman traveled to Myanmar (also known as Burma) with the International Rescue Committee to visit IRC-run maternal health and community engagement programs. He spoke with villagers who were building roads and water systems based on community consensus gained through an election organized by the IRC—giving some villagers the chance to vote for the very first time.


Joshua became an IRC Voice in 2013 as an advocate and spokesperson for the world’s most vulnerable populations.

The Bad Plus Joshua Redman Debut Recording Due May 26 on Nonesuch

In 2011, The Bad Plus invited saxophonist Joshua Redman to join them for a week of enthusiastically received performances at the Blue Note in New York City. They then played a handful of dates before heading into the studio last year to record their debut album, The Bad Plus Joshua Redman, which Nonesuch Records releases on May 26, 2015 (June 8 outside of North America). Joshua Redman Nominated for ECHO Jazz Award

Joshua Redman has been nominated for the ECHO Jazz 2015 Award for International Instrumentalist of the Year, Saxophone/Woodwinds, for his album Trios Live, released last year on Nonesuch Records. The ECHO Jazz Awards, presented by the German Recording Academy, will take place at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg on May 28.

Joshua Redman Trio Takes Tour to Village Vanguard; NY Times: “A Skill Set Wired for Direct Connection”

The Joshua Redman Trio, featuring Reuben Rogers on bass and Gregory Hutchinson on drums, which can be heard on his new album, Trios Live, plays a six-night run at NYC's Village Vanguard October 28–November 2. The New York Times review says Redman has "a skill set wired for direct connection" with the audience, which "locked into his frequency immediately." It's one of a series of shows throughout the US in the fall, including sets in St. Louis, Grand Rapids, and Chicago.

Nonesuch Records releases James Farm’s sophomore album, City Folk, on October 27, 2014. The album features a new collection of ten original tunes written by all four members of the collaborative band: saxophonist Joshua Redman, pianist Aaron Parks, bassist Matt Penman, and drummer Eric Harland. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes and in the Nonesuch Store with an instant download of the opening song “Two Steps” from the record, written by Penman, which you can hear here.
